CINCINNATI (AP) — Evander Da Silva Ferreira — known simply as 'Evander' — had a goal and an assist, Kévin Denkey also scored a goal and FC Cincinnati beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Saturday night for their fourth consecutive win. Cincinnati (13-5-3) has 42 points, most in all of MLS, and moved ahead of Philadelphia (40) into first in the Eastern Conference. Advertisement Evander took the ball near midfield, raced down the right side to the edge of the penalty area and then flicked a shot that bent inside the back post into the side-net to open the scoring in the 19th minute. Evander, racing down the right side, bent a low cross between to two defenders and goalkeeper Jeffrey Gal to Denkey on the left side of the area for a first-touch finish into a wide-open net to make it 2-0 in the 50th minute. Philip Zinckernagel put away a one-touch shot — off a cross played by Andrew Gutman — for Chicago (8-7-4) in the 55th to make it 2-1. No knock on TQL Stadium, which is a lovely modern little soccer arena home to a great MLS side in FC Cincinnati. But Hard Rock Stadium tonight is about as different as a venue as you can get from Bayern Munich's Club World Cup opener. Even setting aside the vast cultural differences between the cities of Cincinnati and Miami themselves, TQL Stadium has a capacity of 26,000 and has hosted... four USMNT matches, three USWNT matches (all friendlies) and a 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup match between Guatemala and Jamaica. Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, on the other hand, seats 75,000 and has hosted six NFL Super Bowls and over 30 international soccer matches, including the 2024 Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia. It stands to reason the team that calls the similarly prestigious Allianz Arena home might feel in a bit more familiar surroundings tonight — at least, until they look up into the stands and see the very vocal contingent of Boca Juniors supporters on hand.

Kévin Denkey's goal helps Cincinnati win 1-0, snap Revolution's nine-game unbeaten streak
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Kévin Denkey scored in the 26th minute, Roman Celentano had two saves and FC Cincinnati beat the New England Revolution 1-0 on Saturday night to snap a four-game winless streak. New England (6-5-5), which had 62% possession and outshot Cincinnati 10-9, had its nine-game unbeaten streak snapped. Denkey poked in a first-touch shot , off a rolling centering pass played by Luca Orellano, from point-blank range to give Cincinnati (10-5-3) a 1-0 lead.
